West Virginia

We headed out this morning and took a quick drive through Roanoke, where we stayed last night. Kristi found a couple large things to take pictures. Not sure if they are “the biggest”, but they were big.

We drove northeast along the Virginia-West Virginia border through the Blue Ridge Mountains and finally through the Shenandoah Valley — yes, played John Denver. We then crossed over into WV to visit Jim’s Uncle, Aunt, and cousins.  It was a beautiful drive.

We landed in Wardensville, WV for an afternoon visit with Jim’s Uncle, Aunt, cousins, and their children. We had a great visit!

We left to drive north through the northeast end of WV. It was a very beautiful drive.

We arrived at our stop for the night, Cumberland, Maryland. We’re not gonna try to explain the geography… Take a look at it on a map. But we did begin our big U-turn and started to head west. Before getting to our hotel for the night we decided to stop and have dinner at an Italian restaurant.
